ISLAMABAD: A record 3,039 cases of the novel coronavirus were recorded during the past 24 hours across the country, according to the national dashboard.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 69,496. The death toll from the virus has reached 1,483 including 88 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 25,056 cases have so far been detected in Punjab, 27,360 in Sindh, 9,540 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4,193 in Balochistan, 2,418 in Islamabad, 678 in Gilgit Baltistan, and 251 in Azad Kashmir.
There are 25,271 patients who have so far recovered from the virus. The total number of coronavirus tests conducted so far 547,030 including 14,972 in the past 24 hours.
Global coronavirus cases surpassed 6 million while the disease has claimed over 367,000 lives worldwide, though the number is thought to be much higher as testing is still limited and many countries do not include fatalities out of hospital.
