Islamabad police arrest 112 outlaws during last fortnight

LAHORE: Lahore policeon Saturday took action against a retailer for allegedly collecting money from the needy people in Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program.
According to police, a complaint was received by the district administration about a retailer embezzling money in the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program.
District administration officers and police reached at the shop of a retailer, Irshad and arrested him. The officials also sealed the shop as the owner allegedly got money from the beneficiaries of Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program, police added.
The beneficiaries were asked to inform the administration in case they are not given the full amount of Rs12, 000 by the retailers.
On April 6, the daily wagers of Rawalpindi had staged protest against the corruption in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme.
According to details, the protestors had claimed that the amount of Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme was being distributed among the relatives of the members of the National and Provincial Assemblies.
The protestors have further claimed that there was an extreme mismanagement and disorder in the Emergency Cash Program the funds are being distributed among relatives of the MPAs and MNAs.
Laborers and poor segments of the society have been the worst affected by coronavirus lockdown. Pakistan is currently under lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic which has killed more than 240 people across the country.
The federal government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken an initiative Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme in order to help the deserving people amid coronavirus lockdown.
