KARACHI: Despite a strict restriction on schools from functioning in Sindh due to coronavirus threat, the provincial government will not be putting any restriction on Pakistan Super League matches from happening in Karachi.
While talking to a private news channel Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director International, Zakir Khan has announced that all of the five PSL matches in Karachi will be held as scheduled.
He said the PSL matches in the metropolis from scheduled from March 12 to 17 will be held as scheduled despite Sindh Health officials has suggested to the CM that limitations should be put on all hefty gatherings including PSL matches in the metropolis.
Zakir Khan has also said that the situation was under control of the provincial government. He further said that precautions will be taken as spectators will be able to use hand sanitizers at several points at the stadium while thermal screening will also be done. The stadium will also be fumigated.
Khan said provincials’ government and PCB authorities would work out a detailed protective plan in the light of the advisory of the Sindh health department.
On Tuesday, CM Murad Ali Shah has said that in Sindh so far 15 cases of coronavirus have been reported as positive and all the cases are imported and none of them is indigenous.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had also announced that the PSL matches would be held in the Karachi from 12 to 17 March as per schedule.
