FBR officers directed to expedite operation against tax evasion

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued notices to over 100 doctors from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today (Thursday) for possessing assets more than their income.
In this regard, FBR has also prepared a list of doctors that includes 100 physicians from Abbottabad, Bannu, Mardan and other districts whose tax returns were less than their income.
The FBR informed that the doctors will be scrutinized after the audit.
The board further told that there are thousands of doctors who do not give taxes, and ensured that stepwise action will be taken against all.
The people of Peshawar have appreciated the step taken by the FBR and demanded strict punishments for the offenders.
Earlier in 2019, FBR issued notices to renowned hospitals of Karachi to disclose income details of physicians and surgeons.
