BENGALURU: A case has been filed against a girl for chanting pro-Pakistan slogans during an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act rally in India.
The girl, who is a student named Amulya Leona, has been charged with sedition as she chanted a ‘Pakistan zindabad’ slogan at a rally against held in Bengaluru.
The rally ‘Save Constitution’ was organized by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul- Muslimeen (AIMIM). Amulya Leona was invited there to address the event. But during her speech, she started chanting pro-Pakistani slogans and asked the crowd to chant ‘Pakistan zindabad’ along with her.
To this reaction, the organisers of the rally and those who were present at the stage tried to snatch away the mic from the girl, but she continued chanting the slogans.
She was immediately arrested by the Bengaluru police after the incident and slapped with a sedition case. She had been sent on a 14-day judicial remand and moreover, her bail is denied too.
Amulya Leona’s father is a local leader from Karnataka’s Janata Dal-Secular party. Her father too described her actions as “absolutely wrong”.
Her name is @AmulyaLeona and she has been projected as a face of Anti CAA-NRC protest in that region since long.
And Owaisi is doing drama of condemnation here but was a mute spectator when #WarisPathan was threatening Hindushttps://t.co/ArOAjIQO4e— Aditya Tiwari (@adt007ad) February 20, 2020
