ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court has heard the case of a petition filed by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faryal Talpur in the money laundering case.
AC Judge Azam Khan conducted the hearing of the case in which the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) pleaded that the bureau was unable to submit its reply in the case.
The bureau also requested the accountability court to grant time for the submission of its answer.
Both Faryal Talpur and her brother Asif Ali Zardari are being held at Adiala Jail after they were arrested by the accountability watchdog earlier this year on charges of laundering billions of rupees through fictitious accounts.
Earlier last month, a plea was filed against Talpur in an Election Commission of Pakistan over seeking her disqualification as a member of the Sindh Assembly.
A bench of the commission headed by the acting Chief Election Commissioner Altaf Ibrahim heard of the case.
It was submitted by two MPAs of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). According to them, Talpur should be disqualified under Article 62 of the Constitution as she failed to declare details of her assets before the ECP, which means she is no longer ‘Sadiq and Ameen.’
