ISLAMABAD: Both Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported as many as four new cases of polio, reaching the tally to 12 for the current year 2020.
An official of the National Institute of Health (NIH) said the cases of Sindh were reported from Badin and Kambar, whereas both cases of KP were registered from the Lakki Marwat district.

While only 39 days have passed since 2020, Pakistan has indeed surpassed the total number of cases for 2018, where only 12 cases have been reported this year.
An official further said, “Polio case reported in Sindh, a 36-month-old girl living in the district of Badin and tehsil, Badin 1 union council, was damaged with the infection virus, the other case from the province being a 42-month-old girl living in the district of Kambar, Miro Khan Tehsil, Khabar union committee,”
On the other hand polio cases reported in KPK province, “an 18-month-old boy, a resident of Lakki Mar-wat district, Bettani tehsil, Ghundi Hassan Khel union council, was paralyzed by poliovirus. While the other child in the province is a nine-month-old girl who is also a resident of Lakki Marwat district, Serae Naurang tehsil, Kot Kashmir union committee” he added.
