KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan was meant to follow Riyasat-e-Madinah which was formed on the idea of a welfare state.

While addressing an event in Advanced Islamic Studies Institute in Kuala Lampur, the prime minister said that it’s always a vision that kept members of the human community together.

He also compared the country with its founder’s vision by saying that his vision for Pakistan was in line with Quaid-e-Azam’s idea.

While highlighting the country’s worst economic crisis, he said, “Even though our country is probably suffering from the worst financial pressure, we have already embarked upon making this country into a welfare society.”

“We have started health insurance for different sections of society. We have started providing shelter home for people living on the streets,” he added.

The prime minister is currently on a two-day official visit to Malaysia, he arrived in Kuala Lumpur earlier on Tuesday.
