ISLAMABAD: Concerns have been raised over the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, with his lawyer and former spokesperson Faisal Chaudhry submitting a formal emergency request to the superintendent of Adiala Jail.
According to the application, Imran Khan’s blood pressure has risen to an extremely high level, and an immediate meeting with his legal team has been described as necessary in view of his reported health condition.
The application further states that concerns over the former prime minister’s deteriorating health are not limited to party sources. It claims that members of the government’s negotiating committee have also received information regarding his health.
According to the request, senior figures involved in the government’s negotiations, including Rana Sanaullah, Naveed Qamar and Ejaz Jakhrani, are also said to have received reports concerning Imran Khan’s health. The application argues that the seriousness of these reports should not be overlooked.
The request also claims that, in view of Imran Khan’s health condition, there have been reports of consultations with a foreign medical specialist.
Faisal Chaudhry has urged the Adiala Jail superintendent to immediately allow the legal team to meet Imran Khan so that they can directly assess his safety, well-being and medical condition and help prevent any untoward situation.
