Gold Prices on the Rise, Silver, Platinum and Palladium Also Gain

WASHINGTON: Gold prices rose in global markets on October 1, 2026, with spot gold climbing above $4,175 an ounce, while other precious metals also recorded gains.

On Thursday, spot gold rose 0.5% to $4,175.19 an ounce. Gold started October on a positive note, following a decline of more than 6% in September.

US gold futures for December delivery also advanced 0.4% to $4,204.80 an ounce.

In the precious metals market, spot silver rose 1.2% to $61.11 an ounce, while platinum gained 0.7% to $1,717.35 an ounce. Palladium also increased 0.3% to $1,207.12 an ounce.
