ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the demolition of a historic mosque in Saharanpur, India.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan said the demolition of the centuries-old mosque in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur city on September 5 was a condemnable act.
The spokesperson said the demolition of the Babri Mosque in 1992 also remains a symbol of religious intolerance, prejudice and hatred.
The Foreign Office spokesperson called for an immediate halt to the desecration and demolition of Muslim places of worship in India.
The spokesperson also urged the international community to take immediate notice of what Pakistan described as the systematic persecution of Muslims by Indian authorities.
