“Anyone who wants can come to the commission and watch the proceedings,” he said, adding that the commission has 30 days to complete the investigation and efforts will be made to reach final results.

He said the aim of the commission is to ensure transparency and improve public trust in institutions. According to him, an advertisement will be issued to contact people with information related to the case, while an official email and WhatsApp number will also be issued.

Anyone providing specific and important information related to the case will be given a reward of Rs100,000, he announced. The commission also directed that a notice be pasted at the place where Mir Raza’s body was found.

The Sindh government has been directed to provide information related to all evidence found in the case, including the list of police officers and doctors involved in the investigation and medico-legal examination.

Lawyer cites timeline in Mir Raza murder case

During the meeting, counsel for the family Jibran Nasir said Mir Ali Raza had left his house at 4am on July 28, while according to CCTV footage at 4:30am he was alive. His body was found near Masjid Khizra in Gulistan-i-Jauhar at 11:50am on July 29.

The announcement comes days after the commission held its first hearing, where Justice Sial had assured the parents of a transparent probe. The family had initially rejected the commission, demanding a JIT instead, but later appeared before it.

It is pertinent to recall here that Mir Raza, 25, was found dead a day after going missing from Ferozabad. Police first termed it suicide, but a second postmortem after exhumation confirmed homicide, after which Section 302 was added to the FIR.

A local court has given police till Sept 7 to submit its report, while the forensic analysis of the victim’s phone and other items is still pending.
