Pakistani veteran actor Nauman Ijaz has revealed that he believes he miraculously recovered from cancer after reciting Surah Rahman every day.

Speaking recently on a podcast, Nauman Ijaz discussed his battle with the serious illness and what he described as his miraculous recovery.

He said that in June 2024, he was diagnosed with a tumor near his ear and lymphoma cancer in his stomach. Following the diagnosis, he not only prayed to Allah but also began reciting Surah Rahman daily.

Describing how he felt on the day of his diagnosis, Ijaz said, “I prayed to Allah that I had never wronged anyone, taken anyone’s money or deceived anyone, and asked Him to have mercy on me.”

He said he also prayed that if his purpose in life had been fulfilled, Allah should take him soon, as he did not want his family to go through the difficult process of dealing with his illness, hospital visits and chemotherapy.

Ijaz said his routine also changed during his illness. Before going to sleep, he began reciting various verses and prayers because he feared that he might not wake up the next morning.

According to Ijaz, after his diagnosis, his friend Gohar Butt advised him to recite Surah Rahman. Following the advice, the actor started reciting it every day.

Describing his recovery, Ijaz said he believed that reciting Surah Rahman played an important role in saving his life.

He said the tumor near his ear was surgically removed, while the lymphoma in his stomach was no longer visible in subsequent scans.

He added that the development was surprising even to him, as doctors had planned to begin chemotherapy in July 2024.

“I was very surprised because my chemotherapy was supposed to begin in July. Allah has been extremely kind to me,” he said.
