Police arrested five alleged robbers, including three in injured condition, in three separate encounters across Karachi during the past 24 hours, officials said.
In the first incident, SITE Super Highway Police arrested two suspects following an alleged encounter in Faqira Goth.
One of the suspects, identified as Umair, was injured and shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment, while his alleged accomplice Zahid was taken into custody for further legal proceedings. Police said two pistols, mobile phones, cash and other allegedly stolen items were recovered from their possession.
In another encounter in Nazimabad No. 1, Rizvia Police arrested two alleged robbers. One suspect, identified as Ubaid, was injured and shifted to a hospital, while his alleged accomplice Farooq was arrested. Police said weapons were recovered from the suspects.
Separately, police arrested an injured alleged robber near Hafiz Ji Mazar in New Karachi’s Sector 11-I following an alleged encounter.
The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Ahsan and was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment. A weapon was recovered from him, police said.
Further investigations into all three incidents are underway.
