Two women were allegedly killed by their husbands following domestic disputes in separate incidents in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said on Tuesday.
A woman identified as Rubina was allegedly shot dead by her husband, Shah Zaman, after a quarrel. Her brother, Nauman Siddiq, said he was informed about the shooting and reached the scene, where he found his sister lying in a pool of blood.
He told police that the killing appeared to have followed a dispute between the couple. Police registered a case against Zaman and began investigating.
The second incident took place in the Merakhail area, where a woman was allegedly strangled by her husband following a family dispute.
Her brother, Saleem Khan, told police that his nephew, Umair Alam, called him and said his maternal aunt had been found dead at her home. Saleem rushed to the house and found his sister dead. He alleged that her husband, Asif, a resident of Hussainabad, had strangled her. Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
The bodies of both women were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Separately, police said a 60-year-old man was killed while his teenage son narrowly escaped an alleged assassination attempt when armed men opened fire following a quarrel between children in Shabqadar’s Mian Palangzai area.
