Aleema Khan urges IHC to grant bail to Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan

Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has urged the Islamabad High Court to grant bail to Bushra Bibi as well as to the PTI founder.

She said that if Imran Khan has been granted relief, the charges and allegations against Bushra Bibi are also extremely weak, and therefore she should have been granted bail even before him.

Aleema Khan said that following the relief granted by the Supreme Court, Imran Khan would now be taken to the hospital, something they had been demanding continuously for the past eight months.

She further said that Nooreen Niazi would also be allowed to meet him today. Speaking firmly about his health, she said there was no politics involved in the matter of his health. “We are his sisters and we only talk about his health,” she said. She added that justice was being served, but criticism naturally followed when justice was not delivered, adding that everyone knew what had happened previously in the Islamabad High Court and other courts.

Speaking to the media, Aleema Khan said there was nothing hidden about the matter. “Who told you that I am receiving relief?” she asked. She said they had just come from the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), where a prosecution witness was scheduled to be cross-examined on their behalf. She said they had asked the court to conduct the cross-examination the following day, but the court said proper preparation was required for it.

At the end of her remarks, Aleema Khan said there was no need to submit anything in writing, as they had already formally submitted their statement before the Supreme Court. She added that they would not come out and speak to the media any further.
