SEOUL: Agent Kim Reactivated may have wrapped on July 25, but the story’s afterglow is already turning into something bigger. Just one day after the finale aired, OSEN reported exclusively on July 26 that SBS and the drama’s production team have officially begun positive discussions about a potential Season 2 following the series’ record-breaking run.
The finale concluded with a 23.0 percent nationwide viewership rating and a 27.1 percent peak, cementing the drama’s status as one of the year’s standout television successes.
In response to the latest development, a production representative said, “Thanks to your immense love and support, we are currently discussing Season 2 of ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ positively,” while adding that no schedule has been finalized yet.
The renewed interest in the franchise also aligns with earlier comments from So Ji-sub, who has previously expressed that he would like to see the series grow into a long-running seasonal format rather than chasing recognition through awards.
That desire has resonated with fans since the finale introduced new direction for Kim Manager, including his new workplace, the Baekho Employment Agency, which many viewers view as a natural launch point for future missions and cases.
Still, the production team made clear that while discussions are underway, detailed plans will only be shared once they are confirmed. For now, the official takeaway is that Season 2 is no longer just fan speculation, but a topic that SBS and the production team are actively considering.
