ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has rolled out a full digital system for Hajj 2027, allowing intending pilgrims to complete registration and payments from home.

According to reports, the ministry has wrapped up this year’s Hajj operation and, in collaboration with the National IT Board, activated a new digital Hajj system for next year’s arrangements.

The online Hajj portal has already crossed 150,000 registrations. On the Prime Minister’s directives, an online payment mechanism for Hajj dues has also been set up.

With the new system, the entire process from registration to payment will be digital. Applicants will no longer need to visit banks to deposit Hajj dues and can instead pay through 1LINK from home.

Overseas Pakistanis will also be able to register and make payments remotely. The portal will let users check their application status with a single click.

Earlier, the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced that the online registration campaign for Hajj 2027 has received an overwhelming response from the public, with the number of registered applicants exceeding 51,000 within just two days.

According to a spokesperson for the Ministry, 46,000 individuals have completed their registration through the online portal, while a further 5,000 applicants have registered from home using the Pak Hajj mobile application.

In collaboration with the National IT Board, the Government is transitioning Hajj operations to a fully paperless, end-to-end digital system to provide pilgrims with modern, transparent and user-friendly services.

Official statistics indicate that 41,000 applicants have opted for the Government Hajj Scheme, while 10,000 have chosen the Private Hajj Scheme. Region-wise registrations include 24,000 applicants from Punjab, 16,000 from Sindh, 7,000 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 3,000 from Islamabad.

Additionally, 800 individuals from Balochistan, 260 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 77 from Gilgit-Baltistan have completed their registration for Hajj 2027. Of the total registered applicants, 30,000 are men and 21,000 are women, with the highest participation recorded among individuals aged between 30 and 48 years.
