GB Elections 2026: Complete results

CHILAS: Punjab Police will deploy 5,000 personnel to assist with security duties for the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) elections scheduled for June 7, according to official sources.

Authorities said the decision was taken after a request for additional security support to ensure peaceful conduct of the Gilgit-Baltistan elections. Following approval, the Central Police Office (CPO) Punjab issued a formal notification regarding the deployment.

Under the plan, 5,000 officers and personnel from different wings of Punjab Police will be sent to GB to perform election duties for the Gilgit-Baltistan elections.

The deployed force includes personnel from the Regional Mounted Police (RMP), Punjab Constabulary (PC), and Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP). This includes 1,500 RMP officials, 1,242 from Punjab Constabulary, 1,958 from Punjab Highway Patrol, and 300 from Lahore Police.

Officials have directed the SSP Motor Transport Punjab to prepare a complete transportation plan for shifting personnel to Gilgit-Baltistan, including vehicle details, driver information, and fitness certificates.

The deployment aims to ensure law and order and smooth conduct of the GB elections across the region.
