KARACHI, April 28: Gold and silver prices in Pakistan fell significantly on Tuesday, offering welcome relief to households and wedding‑season buyers after weeks of elevated rates.

According to figures released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24‑karat gold per tola dropped by Rs. 8,900 to settle at Rs. 485,062, while 10 grams of 24‑karat gold declined Rs. 7,630 to Rs. 415,862. The rate for 22‑karat gold per 10 grams stood at Rs. 381,220, down Rs. 6,995 from the previous session.

On the global front, international gold prices slipped to $4,627 per ounce, marking an $89 decrease.

Silver mirrored the downward trend. The price of 24‑karat silver per tola fell by Rs. 238 to Rs. 7,811, while 10 grams of silver dropped Rs. 204 to Rs. 6,696. International silver prices eased to $73.27 per ounce, down $2.38.

Market observers note that the sharp decline in bullion prices is expected to boost consumer sentiment, particularly among families preparing for weddings and festive purchases. Jewelers anticipate brisk buying in the coming days as affordability improves and buyers take advantage of the lower rates.
