Heidi Klum wore an elaborate Medusa costume to her annual Halloween party in New York City on October 31, 2025.

The detailed, full-body outfit included green scales, a slithering tail, animatronic snakes for hair, and prosthetic facial features. The costume was so immense that she needed a wheeled cart to move around.

The hand-painted, scaled, green bodysuit was capped by a rattlesnake-like tail that required a set of wheels for movement. A battery pack for the mechanical snakes was housed inside the tail.

For her hair, Klum had a headpiece with dozens of animatronic snakes that moved independently.

In addition to her facial prosthetics, the look included razor-sharp acrylic teeth and reptilian contact lenses.

For the costume’s “super-ugly, super-scary” face, she used a custom, suction-cup-mounted, five-inch, split tongue.

Klum carried a bow and arrow prop, which she aimed at her husband on the red carpet.

Klum’s husband, Tom Kaulitz, wore a complementary costume as a Greek soldier who had been turned to stone.

As per social media reports, Klum began planning the costume months in advance, and a team of 15 people worked for five months to create it. It took about 10 hours for her and her husband to get dressed and made up on Halloween day.

She was inspired by the Greek myth of Medusa and aimed to create a truly iconic, terrifying, and “very ugly” version of the monster. Costume designers also drew inspiration from the Medusa special effects created by animator Ray Harryhausen for the 1981 film Clash of the Titans.
