ISLAMABAD: In a major development for Pakistan’s technology sector, Saudi Arabia’s Go Telecommunications Group has announced the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub in the country, marking a new chapter in bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The inauguration ceremony was jointly led by Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, SIFC National Coordinator General Sarfraz Ahmed, Go Group CEO Yahya bin Saleh Al-Mansour, and Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) CEO Abubakar.

According to officials, the newly launched “Go AI Hub” will focus on research, digital solutions, and connecting freelancers with tech companies, with the aim of fostering innovation and deepening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at the event, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the AI Hub is “not just a project, but a sustainable digital platform” that will enable Pakistani professionals and Saudi businesses to connect directly without the need for travel.

She said the initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s “Digital Nation Pakistan” vision and the National Artificial Intelligence Policy, both aimed at creating new opportunities for employment, training, and investment through technology.

Highlighting Pakistan’s growing role in the global digital economy, the minister noted that the country is already among the top three outsourcing destinations worldwide, and the AI Hub will allow Pakistani freelancers to provide remote services to Saudi companies.

She added that the project includes major investments in data infrastructure, which will further strengthen Pakistan’s expanding digital ecosystem.

“This is just the beginning,” Khawaja remarked. “Pakistan will soon witness billions of dollars in new investments. Government policies are now moving from paper to reality.”

She concluded by commending the SIFC and the Prime Minister’s team for turning this historic vision into a tangible reality.
