Police recover Rs144.4 million, jewelry, other valuables during raid on Saad Rizvi’s house

Punjab Police has released details of the items recovered during a raid at the residence of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief, Saad Rizvi.

According to the police, the raid led to the recovery of local and foreign currency, gold jewelry, expensive watches, prize bonds, and other valuable items from Saad Rizvi’s house.

Police said that millions in cash and jewelry were recovered during the raid. A total of Rs. 144.4 million in Pakistani currency was found. Among the foreign currency recovered was INR 50,000 (Indian Rupees).

Punjab Police further stated that currency from the UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE was also recovered. The total value of the foreign currency exceeded Rs. 2.5 million.

According to Punjab Police, gold worth over Rs. 63.4 million was also recovered from Saad Rizvi’s house.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case against Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Rizvi, his brother Anas Rizvi, and over 3,500 party activists following violent protests in Muridke, Punjab.

The case was filed at the City Police Station Muridke on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Afzal. It names 19 identified suspects and approximately 3,500 unidentified individuals. The First Information Report (FIR) includes more than 30 serious legal sections, covering charges such as terrorism, murder, attempted murder, abduction, and destruction of public property.

Police sources stated that the case was registered after violent clashes erupted during the night between October 12 and 13. Protests in Lahore and Muridke escalated when attempts by the administration to negotiate and relocate demonstrators to a less sensitive area failed. Authorities noted that the situation deteriorated further as TLP leaders continued to provoke and incite the crowd.
