The Supreme Court has suspended the order stopping Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri from work and has issued notices to the parties in the case, as reported by national media on Monday.
According to details, a hearing on Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s appeal was held in the Supreme Court. During the proceedings, the apex court suspended the decision of the Islamabad High Court and allowed Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri to resume work.
During the hearing of the appeal, the Supreme Court issued notices to all parties including the Attorney General. Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked that this case before us is only limited to the interim order of the Islamabad High Court. The Supreme Judicial Council meeting has been convened on October 18.
Earlier, the University of Karachi canceled the law degree of Islamabad High Court Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri and imposed a three-year ban on him, as reported by national media on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the University of Karachi, the LLB result and degree of Tariq Mehmood, son of Qazi Muhammad Akram, have been canceled. The student (Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri) has also been banned for three years for using unfair means.
