ISLAMABAD: US diplomat Alice Wells is expected to arrive in Pakisatn on a three-day visit on 19th January.
The important sessions will be held between both the countries in the upcoming days. The visit by Wells will be a part of her 10-day visit to the region during which she will travel to Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan, from 13th to 22nd January.
According to a statement issued by the US department, Wells will visit Colombo from 13th to 14th January and then travel to India to attend the Raisina Dialogue from 15th to 18th January before traveling to Pakistan.
During her visit to Islamabad, Alice Wells will hold meetings with the civil and military leadership of Pakistan to discuss regional peace and security and the meetings will also review the progress on Pak-US relations and the Afghan reconciliation process.
The current situation in the Middle East, specially US-Iran tensions and the alarming state of Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) will also be discussed during the meeting.
During her last visit to Pakistan in December 2019, Wells was pleased to see Moody’s Investors Service has revised the credit outlook of Pakistan to stable.
Wells in a tweet, posted, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells appreciated the improvement in Pakistan’s credit outlook by Moody’s.
