A Plane, carrying over 200 passengers, crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in the Meghani Nagar area near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
This Air India passenger plane — a Boeing Dreamliner 787 aircraft which can carry 300 passengers, was going to London. According to Indian media, the plane was carrying 242 passengers.

The site where the plane crashed is close to a periphery wall of the airport in a residential area. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the area near the Adani Airport premises following the incident.
The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services Department deployed more than five fire-fighting vehicles to the scene. Officials confirmed that fire tenders were promptly mobilized following the alert, and emergency response and assessment operations are currently underway.
Residents of Meghaninagar reported that they heard three loud explosions, followed by the appearance of smoke.
The cause of the incident and the full extent of damage to the aircraft have not yet been officially confirmed. Airport authorities have launched an internal inquiry, and a technical team is currently evaluating the situation.
