Karachi – The Dumper Truck Transport Owners Association has announced that it will not participate in the lifting of animal waste in Karachi during the upcoming Eidul Adha.
In a video statement, Association President Liaquat Mehsud declared that this year, the association will not provide dumpers to assist with the removal of offal across the city.
He stated that “20 to 25 of our vehicles were torched by miscreants, and we have yet to receive any compensation. I have already submitted written requests to the Karachi Commissioner and all relevant departments.”
Mehsud added that the Sindh government and local authorities have been unjust to the dumper transport sector.
It is worth noting that following several fatal accidents in Karachi involving dumpers and water tankers, incidents of vehicle torching were reported, heightening tensions between citizens and heavy transport operators.
