The Meteorological Department has forecasted a rise in heat intensity along with an increase in temperature in Karachi starting today (Sunday).
According to details, an increase in heat intensity is expected in Karachi from today, with temperatures likely to remain between 39 to 40 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department stated that in coastal areas, the heat intensity may feel like 45 degrees Celsius. There will be strong sunlight during the day, and sea breezes will be absent.
The department further stated that over the next 24 hours, the weather in Karachi will remain extremely hot and humid, with winds blowing from the west at a speed of 16 kilometers per hour, and humidity levels at 72 percent. Thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rain are expected in parts of Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Light rain is also expected today in Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, and Peshawar. In Punjab, rain may occur in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, and Chakwal. However, most districts of Punjab will remain dry and hot.
Earlier, extreme heat was recorded in various cities of Balochistan. In Sibi, the temperature reached 51 degrees Celsius, while in Turbat it was recorded at 44, in Nokundi at 45, and in Chaman at 40 degrees Celsius. In Quetta, the temperature was recorded at 39, in Kalat at 34, in Ziarat at 30, and in Zhob at 37 degrees Celsius. In coastal cities, the temperature in Gwadar was 36 and in Jiwani 35 degrees Celsius.
