The Pakistan Railways administration has made a surprising decision regarding the Khushal Khan Khattak Express: the train will now operate from Kotri instead of Karachi.
The departure of the Khushal Khan Khattak Express from Karachi has been officially canceled. According to the railway authorities, the train will now begin its journey from Kotri, a town near Hyderabad.
Passengers traveling from Karachi will be transported to Kotri by alternative trains, and similarly, passengers arriving in Karachi will be brought from Kotri by other services.
The Khushal Khan Khattak Express has been restored after a suspension of five years. Its service was halted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A large number of passengers used to travel on this train from Karachi to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and likewise, people from Peshawar and other parts of the province relied on it to reach Karachi.
Given that the majority of the train’s passengers either depart from or arrive in Karachi, the railway administration’s decision has raised eyebrows and is being seen as quite unusual.
