Broadway’s most anticipated evening is fast approaching, as nominations for the 78th Annual Tony Awards were officially announced on Thursday.
Eligibility for this year’s awards extended to productions that opened on Broadway between April 26, 2024, and April 27, 2025. Leading the nominations with ten each are Death Becomes Her, Maybe Happy Ending, and Buena Vista Social Club.
Among the standout nominees, George Clooney earned a nod for Best Performance for his role in Good Night, and Good Luck, a Broadway adaptation of his Oscar-nominated film. Meanwhile, Audra McDonald secured her record-setting 11th Tony nomination, this time for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance in Gypsy.
When are the 2025 Tony Awards?
The ceremony will take place at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 8:00 – 11:00 PM ET / 5:00 – 8:00 PM Pacific Time (PT).
