Former Pakistan cricket head coach Jason Gillespie has reportedly initiated legal action against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), alleging non-payment of dues and multiple breaches of contract.
According to The Express Tribune, Gillespie has escalated the matter to court proceedings and has also referred the case to the International Cricket Council (ICC), although it remains unclear whether the ICC has jurisdiction over such contractual disputes.
Gillespie, who was appointed as Pakistan’s red-ball coach in April 2024 on a two-year deal, resigned from his position in December 2024. In a video shared via Instagram, the former Australian fast bowler claimed the PCB still owes him a portion of his agreed remuneration. He said that the outstanding payments include bonuses tied to Pakistan’s Test series victory over England in October 2024 and their ODI series win against Australia the following month.

Despite attempts to settle the matter directly, Gillespie alleges that the PCB failed to fulfill its financial obligations, prompting him to pursue legal recourse.
In response, the PCB issued a formal statement on Sunday denying Gillespie’s claims. The board asserted that the coach’s resignation without observing the stipulated four-month notice period constituted a clear breach of contract. “The coaching contract clearly outlines the notice period applicable to both parties, and the former head coach was fully aware of these terms,” the PCB stated, adding that no dues remain unpaid under the terms of the agreement.
