Pakistan captain Fatima Sana has been named captain of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025 Team of the Tournament, following her outstanding all-round performance and leadership.
The team comprises top performers from four nations, with Pakistan leading the representation.
The qualifier tournament, hosted in Pakistan, concluded on Saturday. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh secured qualification for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, clinching the final two spots in the global event.
Joining Sana in the tournament’s best XI are fellow Pakistani players Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu, Sadia Iqbal, and reserve player Rabeya Khan. Muneeba impressed with consistent performances at the top of the order, anchoring Pakistan’s innings with stability and intent. Nashra and Sadia were instrumental with the ball during the middle overs, delivering control and key breakthroughs that shaped the team’s dominance.
Fatima Sana, recognized for her dynamic contributions with both bat and ball, played a pivotal role in guiding Pakistan through an unbeaten campaign. Under her captaincy, the team won all five of its matches, including a crucial victory over former world champions West Indies.
