The anti-electricity theft campaign is successfully underway across the country to revive the national economy, as reported by national media.
According to a report on Tuesday, the results of efforts by the government and military leadership to restore the national economy and free the public from the electricity crisis are now becoming evident.
Authorities have recovered more than Rs152.54 billion so far as a result of a strict crackdown against over 314,000 electricity thieves, according to the report.
During the past week, 97 electricity thieves were arrested. Relevant institutions are determined to continue their operations across the country until electricity theft is completely eliminated.
It is worth noting that electricity theft in Pakistan is a crime often committed in collusion with employees of electricity distribution companies in several areas.
In Karachi, the country’s largest city, many areas have visible illegal connections (kundas), which are clear proof of electricity theft, often involving KE employees.
Many individuals have expressed satisfaction over the crackdown on power thieves, calling it a significant step toward preventing electricity theft and ensuring affordable electricity.
