The train service that had been suspended for 17 days in Balochistan, due to ta errorist attack on the Jaffar Express, has finally been restored.
The first train, the Jaffar Express, departed from Quetta for Peshawar following its revival. Provincial Assembly member Jamal Shah Kakar was present to send off the train.
The Jaffar Express, consisting of 10 carriages, embarked for Peshawar Cantonment with 400 passengers onboard.
The Jaffar Express departing from Peshawar is en route to Quetta, carrying 280 passengers after being delayed for 16 days. Federal Minister Amir Maqam initiated the departure of the train from Peshawar.
It is noteworthy that on March 11, the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) attacked the Jaffar Express, taking passengers hostage. Security forces successfully eliminated all terrorists within two days of the operation.
It is still not unclear whether the special Eid Train will run from Quetta to Rawalpindi this year or not. Before the Jaffar Express attack, Pakistan Railways had announced the special trains from Quetta and Karachi.
