Earthquake jolts Gwadar, adjoining areas

GWADAR: A heavy magnitude earthquake struck off the Arabian Sea coast of Pakistan in Gwadar, adjoining areas on Saturday, the sources said, but there were no early signs of casualties or damage.

Residents of the affected areas were woken up by the tremors and ran out of their houses in fear and shocks.

Sources said initially no reports of damage or fatalities from the quake, which was centred between the Chinese-operated port of Gwadar and the city of Pasni, in Baluchistan province.
