The General Authority of Harmain Sharifeen- Masjid al-Haram in Macca and Masjid-e-Nabawi in Madina, has announced the date and method of online registration for I’tikaf at the two holy mosques this Ramadan.
As per the announcement, the registration will start from Wednesday, March 5, and those aspiring to sit for I’tikaf can register themselves on the authority’s portal from 11:00 AM on Wednesday. The registration will continue until the target set is met.
Permission will be granted to the aspirants as per the rules and regulations.
“Those who will be issued permits will be able to sit in for I’tikaf at the Grand Mosque and Masjid-e-Nabawi on the 20th of Ramadan,” the announcement stated.
It is pertinent to mention here that all facilities, including Iftar and Sehri meals are provided by the Saudi government to those who sit for I’tikaf at Harmain Sharifeen. In this connection, every person is issued a special card. Besides that, a locker is also provided to each of them.
I’tikaf is an Islamic practice of staying in a mosque for the last 10 or 9 days of Ramadan to worship Allah and separate from worldly distractions.
