Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said on Wednesday it had started extradition procedure to bring back property tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain from the UAE.
Hussain one of Pakistan’s richest and most powerful businessmen, is also the country’s largest private employer. People know him as the chairman of Bahria Town Limited, which says it’s the biggest private real estate developer in Asia. Hussain now lives in Dubai.
Arab News reports that the agency has asked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to pursue the extradition. Once NAB approves, the FIA will take the case to other countries working with Interpol too.
The spokesman said the extradition request relates to Hussain’s role in the Al-Qadir case.

Last week, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan would use its extradition agreement with the UAE to bring Hussain back.
Earlier this month, NAB warned people not to invest in Hussain’s new real estate project, which plans to build fancy apartments in Dubai.
