Sher Afzal Marwat has dismissed the news claiming that Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, refused to meet him as false. Speaking to the media outside Parliament,
Sher Afzal Marwat expressed solidarity with the media regarding the PICA Act and stated that the news circulated by all the channels yesterday, claiming that Imran Khan had refused to meet him, was a lie. He said he did not feel the need to respond to such false news.
Marwat further emphasized, “I am better off on my own; nothing is more valuable to me than my self-respect. Spreading such rumors only creates animosity among my people.” He added that he was never allowed to meet Khan in the past, nor was he allowed now. “False news has been spread against me, and I will stay away from the media for fifteen days.”
Details have emerged regarding why Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, blocked Sher Afzal Marwat’s entry into Adiala Jail. According to media, a court order has surfaced in which Imran Khan requested that Sher Afzal Marwat be stopped from entering Adiala Jail. The order states that Imran Khan wrote in the court document that Sher Afzal Marwat is not his lawyer.
The written order of the hearing of the Toshakhana-II case from the previous day revealed that Sher Afzal Marwat was not granted access to the courtroom, and this was included as part of the court order. The order mentioned that Imran Khan had requested that Sheer Afzal Marwat be stopped from entering the jail.
According to the order, Assistant Superintendent Bilal Khan informed the court that Sher Afzal Marwat wanted to enter the courtroom.
The court was told that Sher Afzal Marwat was the defense lawyer in the Toshakhana-II case, to which Imran Khan clarified that Sher Afzal Marwat was not his lawyer. Imran Khan further stated that Sher Afzal Marwat should not be allowed to appear in the case. The jail officer’s stance on the matter will be brought on record for future hearings of the case.
