Silver Jubilee celebration ends at SSUET

KARACHI: Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology’s (SSUET) Silver Jubilee celebration was organized by a grand dinner at the university which was attended by the famous personalities, including the renowned cricketers, Kamran Akmal, Salman Butt and the anchorperson of Sare Aam, Iqrar ul Hassan.

On this occasion, glowing tributes were also paid to the Alig mohsaneen. Addressing the grand ceremony, chief guest Sardar Yasin Malik said that I did nonentity in whole life but the service of humanity. He extended his gratitude to the voice-Chancellor for organizing such a wonderful event.

Chancellor of SSUET said that today time stress again to adopt the education system of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan that based on tolerance, endurance, and coexistence. Following his ideology, AMUOBA formed the Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT) in the first stage and SSUET in the second phase.

He further said that SSUET Alumni are taking interest in their Alma mater‘s affairs and they are cooperating with us to make testing lab effective and functional at the campus. It will prove to be a profitable unit for the university. Similarly, other alumni also intend to do something for their university that is always welcomed.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin highlighted that HEC has placed SSUET in ‘W’ category as one of the top universities securing 92.88% scores. Moreover, the Chartered Inspection & Evaluation Committee of Sindh Government ranked SSUET as Number 1 private sector Engineering University.

General Secretary of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association, Muhammad Arshad Khan said that after the debacle of 1857 War of Independence, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan laid the foundation to an academic institute in 1862 that led to the formation of Pakistan. Education is necessary for progress and development, enlightenment, and economic prosperity.

Earlier, presenting welcome address, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, said that teachings of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan have been a beacon of light for a successful journey.
