The regulation, known as the Royal Decree 933/2021, requires travel agencies, hotels and car rental firms to report data on travelers visiting Spain.
These measures, aimed at enhancing security, will take effect on December 2, 2024.
Initially introduced in January 2023, the decree’s enforcement has been delayed multiple times during an adaptation period.
What personal info is required?
From December 2, travelers aged 14 and above will need to provide the following details:
- Full name
- Nationality
- Gender
- Passport number
- Date of birth
- Home address
- Landline phone number (if applicable)
- Mobile phone number
- Email address
Moreover, if fails to comply, individual travelers will not be fined under the new rules, however, hotels and other organizations that fail to comply with the data collection requirements may face penalties of up to £25,000.
