Indian actress Divya Prabha has slammed those who leaked her nude scene from All We Imagine As Light, a film in which she portrayed a young Malayali nurse named Anu.
According to Indian Express, bootlegged versions of the scene have circulated on social media, leading to widespread criticism. Speaking to OnManorama while on set in Dubai, where she is shooting for director Thamar KV’s upcoming project, Divya expressed her dismay, calling the act “pathetic.”
Divya Prabha acknowledged that she anticipated such reactions when she took on the role, pointing out the paradox of a community that celebrates international filmmakers like Yorgos Lanthimos but remains intolerant of Malayali women taking on similar roles.
Divya also emphasized that the leaked videos were shared by a small fraction of people, noting that Malayali members of the Central Board of Film Certification had approved the scene. She rejected claims that she did it for fame, stating, “I have won several awards and been part of critically acclaimed films. I don’t think I need to strip naked for attention.”
All We Imagine As Light, which won the Grand Prix award at the Cannes Film Festival this year, is an Indo-French co-production starring Divya along with Kani Kusruti, Chhaya Kadam, and Hridhu Haroon. The film is currently screening in theaters.
