ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the Indian government has buried the theory of India being ‘secular’ by the imposing of ideologies of Hindutva on its citizens.
While discussing an important statement regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act in India, the foreign minister said that the theory of a secular state was buried by the Indian government after the approval of the controversial citizenship act.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that tensions in India rose after the controversial lawmaking by Indian premier Narendra Modi.
He said that no one was supporting the New Delhi government now for its illegal steps taken on 5th August for Indian occupied Kashmir (Iok).
Earlier on 22nd December, the foreign minister claimed that India might carry out a fake operation to divert the world’s attention from ongoing protests against citizenship law. He said that United Nations Security Council has been informed about reservations on Indian moves and clarified that any aggression from arch-rival will be responded befittingly.

Qureshi further urged the international community to take action against Modi‘s wicked plans.
The law allows New Delhi to grant citizenship to non-Muslim nationals from three neighbouring countries follows other policies from the government of Modi that critics say are designed to marginalize Muslims in the Hindu-majority nation.

The law gives migrants fleeing persecution from neighbouring Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh an easier path to citizenship, except that Muslims 14 percent of India’s population are excluded.
