Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shehrbano Naqvi invited on Tuesday people to come forward with evidence of rape of a college student so that police can take action.
The ASP was referring to a social media post of alleged rape of a college student which caused widespread protest in the city on Monday.
In a video message, ASP Naqvi said the girl who was being named in the incident was hospitalised 10 days prior to the ‘incident’.
She claimed that the family of the girl said she fell while getting ready for school.
The girl’s father also confirmed that she suffered injury at home. There is no complainant, against whom police take action? ASP Naqvi said.
If anyone has evidence “come forward so that the police can take action.”
ASP Naqvi said the girl’s medical reports were available. “The record of the hospital she has been admitted to is also available.”
She asked students who are spreading such messages to share evidence, so that police take action.
