Muzaffarabad: The government of Azad Kashmir has made electricity free for up to 200 units, and a notification has also been issued for providing free electricity to mosques.
According to a report by private TV channel “V News,” the Azad Kashmir government has implemented the decision to provide up to 200 units of free electricity to mosques. The government has also formally issued the notification for this.
The notification issued by the Department of Electricity instructs all operation divisions in Azad Kashmir to provide details of mosques where electricity meters are installed and functional.
As per the government’s notification, all mosques in Azad Kashmir that are equipped with active meters in accordance with the terms and conditions will have their bills for up to 200 units paid by the Azad Kashmir government.
It is noteworthy that earlier, following a motion by Azad Kashmir’s Information Minister Pir Mazhar Saeed Shah, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq of Azad Kashmir had announced the provision of free electricity to mosques for up to 200 units, which has now been implemented.
