A significant development has emerged in the Fatima rape and murder case. During a hearing at the Sindh High Court, the parents of the victim claimed they were forced to sign a settlement agreement.
According to a report by Express News, the Sindh High Court took suo moto notice of the case involving the sexual assault, torture, and murder of young Fatima Farru in Ranipur. The court has issued notices to the relevant parties in response to the parents’ request.
During the hearing, the court listened to the statements of the child’s parents and the lawyer’s arguments. The parents requested that the case be transferred to Karachi, with the mother stating they had been threatened and coerced.
The victim’s mother claimed they were forced to sign the settlement agreement under duress. She pleaded with the Sindh High Court to ensure justice for their daughter and that those responsible for the assault and murder be held accountable.
The parents also requested that the case be heard in the Anti-Terrorism Court.
The Sindh High Court, after hearing the arguments, issued notices for responses from the involved parties and adjourned the hearing until October 14.
It is noteworthy that last year, young Fatima was subjected to severe torture at a haveli, which led to her death.
Further investigation revealed that the child had been sexually assaulted and tortured before her death. Despite the passage of time, the judicial system has so far failed to provide justice to Fatima’s parents.
