Speculations about Lebanon’s group Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s life have been doing the rounds after the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) carried out a strike in Beirut on Friday.
In the strike, the central headquarters of Hezbollah collapsed. The Hezbollah chief was believed to have been in the building during the strikes, however, a source close to him said that he is ‘fine’. The source also denied reports that Nasrallah was the target of the Israeli airstrike carried out in Lebanon, on Friday.
Following the attack, an Israeli official said it was difficult for Nasrallah to have made out of it alive. “Hard to believe he got out of it alive,” said the official, reported The Jerusalem Post.
The Israeli newspaper further mentioned that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had authorized the strike before addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
On the other hand, Iranian media on Saturday denied Israeli officials and media claims stating that Hassan Nasrallah is safe.
