In response to potential restrictions on its Saturday rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has outlined a flexible plan to ensure the event proceeds as scheduled. Party leaders held a consultative Zoom meeting chaired by Salman Akram Raja, where they discussed strategies to counter government obstacles.
PTI has decided that if denied access to Minar-e-Pakistan, they will hold public meetings wherever their convoys are halted. Raja emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and avoiding confrontations with law enforcement while remaining adaptable to changes in location.
It was also decided in the Zoom meeting that if the stage of the public meeting and containers are not allowed to be installed in Minar Pakistan, a mobile public meeting will be held.
The party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter is fully prepared for the rally, with each Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) tasked with bringing at least 500 supporters. Convoys from various regions, including Peshawar and Hazara, are set to depart from Swabi Interchange, led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
After gathering at Swabi tomorrow morning, these convoys will proceed to merge with additional groups from Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Gandapur has called on citizens to participate in the rally, framing it as a critical movement toward achieving “true freedom” from corruption.
The PTI leadership remains determined to adapt their plans as necessary, ensuring that the voice of their supporters is heard, regardless of the government’s stance on the rally’s location.
