Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, has declared that the nation is marking Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Thanksgiving) in light of the recent historic judgment by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the Mubarak Sani review petition case.
Addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid in the Minister’s Enclave, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman expressed gratitude for the decision, which he described as a victory for the nation’s Islamic values. The event was attended by federal ministers, members of Parliament, as well as civil and military officers, who collectively offered Nawafil (voluntary prayers) in gratitude for the judgment.
In his speech, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman highlighted that the previous Supreme Court ruling had allegedly favored the Qadianis, which he argued was against Islamic law. He praised the Supreme Court for omitting the contentious paragraphs from the earlier judgment, which he claimed had contradicted the principles of Islam.
The JUI-F chief emphasized that Muslims across the country are celebrating this day of thanksgiving by offering Nawafil in response to the revised judgment. He extended his congratulations to the Muslim community nationwide, underscoring that this outcome was achieved through the persistent efforts of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman also urged the entire nation to participate in a conference scheduled in Lahore on September 7, where further discussions on the protection of Khatm-e-Nabuwat (the finality of Prophethood) will take place. He lauded Supreme Court Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa for accepting the suggestions of the ulema in the Mubarak Sani case and for ensuring that the judgment aligns with Islamic principles.
The JUI-F chief’s remarks reflect the party’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding religious values and its active role in influencing judicial decisions that impact the Islamic identity of the nation.
