Two students were killed and at least five were injured in an attack on a school van in Attock, a city of Punjab.
As per media reports, terrorists opened fire at a school van in the Dhery Kot area in Attock, resulting in the tragic death of two children and injuries to five others.
Rescue officials told media that assailants opened fire on the van, which was carrying children between the ages of 10 and 12. In addition to the children, the van’s driver was also injured in the assault.
Emergency services responded promptly, and the injured were rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of the attack on school children and has sought a report from the authority concerned.
No militant organization has claimed the attack yet.
Attock, formerly known as Campbellpur, is a city in Punjab, not far from the country’s capital Islamabad. It is the headquarters of the Attock District and is the 36th largest city in the Punjab and the 61st largest city in the country, by population.
