Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has just surpassed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to become the third most-followed Indian on Instagram. Kapoor now boasts 91.4 million followers, edging out Modi, who has 91.3 million followers.
Kapoor’s surge in popularity comes on the heels of her latest film, Stree 2: Sarkate ka Aatank, which has achieved significant box office success, grossing over Rs.250 crore in just five days. This boost has catapulted her past Modi in the Instagram rankings.
Currently, only cricketer Virat Kohli and actress Priyanka Chopra hold more followers than Kapoor. Kohli leads with an impressive 271 million followers, while Chopra has 91.8 million. Following Kapoor are Alia Bhatt with 85.1 million and Deepika Padukone with 79.8 million.
While Kapoor climbs the Instagram charts, Prime Minister Modi continues to lead globally on X (formerly Twitter), where he holds over 101.2 million followers, far surpassing other world leaders and celebrities.
Shraddha Kapoor’s latest release, ‘Stree 2,’ is making waves at the box office. The horror-comedy sequel is approaching the Rs.300 crore mark in global collections. The movie is expected to gross 500 Crores easily.
